And trust me, not all dairy-free yogurts work as yogurt cheese. I used the Plain variety, which has a lightly sweet finish, but can still be paired with savories. Silk Almondmilk Yogurt is actually so natural, that I was able to make this Dairy-Free Yogurt Cheese Recipe with it. In my opinion, this is dairy-free yogurt how it should be. And since it is free of gums and carrageenan there aren’t any gelatinous oddities either. The yogurt spoons with ease, and isn’t runny in the slightest. Silk AlmondMilk Yogurt is Now Sold in Seven FlavorsĪs mentioned, each flavor is perfectly thick with a near seamless creamy finish. And they really do satisfy as a sweet reward. But the wholesome ingredients and live and active cultures do bump them up a notch from your typical dessert. The flavored varieties clock in at 15 to 17 grams of sugar per single-serve container, making them a bit more of a treat in our household (much like their soy-based yogurts). ![]() But the Plain has just 6 grams of sugar, while maintaining an enjoyable taste. They don’t yet have an unsweetened variety, which I would love to see. Plus, each flavor boasts a natural dose of protein (5 to 6 grams) and plant-based fats (11 to 13 grams) from the almond base. ![]() Silk AlmondMilk Yogurt also has a short and sweet ingredient list. Silk AlmondMilk Yogurt is a perfectly thick, wonderfully creamy dairy-free yogurt with the most delicious flavors. I must say that they really knocked it out of the park with this product line.

![]() Because Apple obviously experimented a bit, I applaud the team for its courage! iOS 7 Improvements How often have we expected Apple to rely on iteration in the past (especially when speaking to visuals)? When your demographic seems to be literally everyone, and your past products have quite often been so well received, it’s extremely difficult not to dip your brush in fresh paint. People are already taking on the redesigns they think are necessary. Icons, typography, colors, arrangements…these can all be iterated much easier than the information architecture and userflows. They seem to be results of simply overindulging in aesthetics, or what I generally call “trying too hard to impress.” The complaining and critique seems to be just that as well: overindulging in an interface and visual approach that we haven’t even used yet. But what do the majority of these conflicts have in common? Prompts and visual indicators are seemingly arbitrary or contradicting what should be supplemental typography. Colors are as much chosen as they are random due to coloration throughout the OS being created from translucency and user-specified imagery. Standard icons such as those that represent camera functionality or sharing capabilities wildly vary throughout, or have flat out veered from the universal styles we all have become familiar with. Okay, perhaps the emphasis on translucency may periodically cause confusion.įor many designers there exists an instinctive feeling that Apple’s team simply couldn’t decide on a visual direction. Indeed, the variation in app iconography formulates a slightly inconsistent package. Yes, Apple has aligned itself with the trend that is “flat” design. And what I’m hearing and seeing doesn’t seem to be all that reassuring… Naturally the web, especially the majority of the design community, is talking. All are really electrifying advancements, all seemingly overshadowed by an outrage surrounding the most controversial announcement: iOS 7.Īpple CEO Tim Cook called iOS 7 “a stunning new user interface.” But whether the design of iOS 7 and its aesthetic choices are actually well done is up for heavy debate. ![]() ![]() By now you’ve surely heard about Apple’s announcements from WWDC 2013 this past week that included iTunes Radio, OS X Mavericks and a sneak peek at what looks to be a revolutionary Mac Pro (for desktop).

Luntz did, however, credit the White House for trying different approaches. Someone who shows up at your door isn’t someone you know or trust.” “You have to either know the person or trust a person. The likelihood of success is extremely low,” said Luntz. “I don’t know why they came up with this strategy, I don’t know why they recommended it. While the White House has been using some aspect of this strategy for weeks, the president and Press Secretary Jen Psaki recently highlighted the efforts as a way the administration was tackling the rapid-spreading Delta variant. Though he informally advised the White House, Luntz on Wednesday said he was critical of Biden’s door-to-door strategy - one where community members like pastors or grassroots activists attempt to explain the benefits of the Covid vaccine and tell people how to access one. He said that the public-health oriented de Beaumont Foundation paid for the Luntz focus group work that the White House was able to use. The advising was on a volunteer basis, said Slavitt, who now hosts a Podcast called “ In the Bubble” in which he recently had Luntz on as a guest. But of the people we talked to he was among the best.” “I want to make clear, we called and talked and listened to a lot of people, I don’t want to overstate it. ![]() “The question we were asked the most coming in was, ‘Why aren’t you getting out there with political leaders, talking about this with movie stars, sports stars?’ and all of the research we heard - including from Frank - told us it was the local conversations with doctors and Trump people that were more important,” Slavitt said. In the end, it solidified their belief that a hyper-local strategy to encourage vaccinations - which included having doctors reach out to their patients about the vaccine - was the right one. While Slavitt said Luntz’s research was useful, he also said that the framework he provided was one the White House had already been adopting. For the former, Fox News host Tucker Carlson attacked him this year, arguing that McCarthy was compromised by Luntz’s corporate clients after renting a room in his home.Īsked if news of his relationship with the White House would only further ruffle feathers with conservatives like Carlson, Luntz responded, “I don’t care.” He emphasized each word. He is perhaps the only operative in Washington who has both rented a room to House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy and advised the Biden White House. He maintains allies in the GOP but also claimed in 2019 to have had an epiphany on climate change, after advising Republicans for years on how to beat back legislative efforts to address it. And that was not helpful.”Ī fixture of Republican politics since the days when he was advising lawmakers to call the “estate tax” the “death tax,” Luntz has become a bit of a nomad in recent years. “His whole point is that, you hear CNN say ‘Republicans, conservatives aren’t getting vaccinated, they’re vaccine hesitant.’ It becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy and it creates a wedge, it talks down to people. “The cable networks in particular were using language that was not helping the cause,” Slavitt said in an interview. Slavitt, who said he was the first to reach out to Luntz in the early days of the administration, credited Luntz for providing copious details of focus group research that showed the most effective ways of talking to people about the safety of Covid vaccines. ![]() We also do not allow non-reputable stores, auction sites and keyshops. ![]() ![]() ![]() No buying, selling, trading, begging, giveaways or crowd-funding. Synchrotron X-ray tomographic quantification of microstructural evolution in ice cream - a multiphase soft solid. Finally, we consider the potential for radiation damage and common sources of imaging artefacts, discuss reproducibility issues and consider future advances and opportunities. We examine how CT can be used to follow the structural evolution of materials in three dimensions in real time or in a time-lapse manner, for example to follow materials manufacturing or the in-service behaviour and degradation of manufactured components. We consider the application of X-ray CT to study subjects across the materials, metrology and manufacturing, engineering, food, biological, geological and palaeontological sciences. Whereas CT is widely used in medical and heavy industrial contexts at relatively low resolutions, here we focus on the application of higher resolution X-ray CT across science and engineering. We explain the process of computationally reconstructing three-dimensional (3D) images from 2D radiographs and how to segment the 3D images for subsequent visualization and quantification. In this Primer, we outline the basic principles of CT and describe the ways in which a CT scan can be acquired using X-ray tubes and synchrotron sources, including the different possible contrast modes that can be exploited. X-ray computed tomography (CT) can reveal the internal details of objects in three dimensions non-destructively. |
